The New Inquisition

May 17, 2008 at 9:33 am (Predictions, Warnings)

Yeah, it’s been awhile since my last post. Sorry. Anyway, I’ve been reading up on the International Criminal Court. Very interesting stuff. Although, since it has no checks or balances, it has the potential to become a Secular Spanish Inquisition of the Middle Ages. No one could touch it, they could arrest anyone they wanted on whatever charge they wanted and get away with it. As corruption and lust creep into the ICC, this will inevitably happen. It is said that “those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” All of the founders of the ICC were doubtless taugh that the cause of the Spanish Inquisition’s reign of terror was religion. It wasn’t. The cause was corruption. This new inquisition will doubtless find itself a tool of corrupt officials.

The 2nd Computer Revolution

May 1, 2008 at 1:08 pm (Predictions)

“It took about 40 years to find it, but scientists at Hewlett-Packard said on Wednesday they discovered a fourth basic type of electrical circuit that could lead to a computer you never have to boot up,” says Reuters (reported on www.pcmag.com). I say go for it! This technology could result in a dream I have had for a looong time. To build a computer that is like the ‘desks’ in the Ender series. Seriously! Too bad this tech will likely be extremenly expensive for several years. Oh well, I’ve waited years, I can wait a while longer. Will this be the 2nd computer revolution? Yes, it probably will. It will take a lot of getting used, but it will be worth it.

Predictions for Windows Vienna/7

April 10, 2008 at 10:28 am (Predictions) (, , , , )

I am just going to come out and say it: Windows Vienna/7 is going to fail. Why? If they don’t have backward compatability, people will more than likely switch to a free OS, which still wouldn’t have much backward compatibility, but would cost much less.
On the other hand, if they do have backward compatability, most businesses will stay with XP. Why again? So that they make sure everything keeps working.

BTW, all of my conclusions are drawn from this site: Microsoft Windows Vienna / Windows 7and this site: Paul Thurrott’s SuperSite for Windows
